Mimir Chamber Music Festival – Concert Four – QUINTESSENCE

Latvian violinist Sophia Kirsanova dazzles with music from her homeland, a Bach-inspired Toccata. Percy Grainger’s ‘My Robin is to the Greenwood Gone’ is reminiscent of the ‘music room rambling’ of days gone by. Dvořák’s Piano Quintet, the quintessence of passionate chamber music, radiates a Bohemian optimism in a stunning conclusion to the festival.
